Best Beaches in Mykonos island

This is the favorite spot of high society. Located in the south west coast of Mykonos, 5 kilometers from Chora. This small and very picturesque beach with white sand offers an excellent view of the island of Delos. Bus schedules are frequent. A bar and a restaurant serve visitors needs.

Close to Agrari, but not as quite, this is the largest of the southern beaches, with hotels, bungalows, and restaurants. Situated at the back of Ornos, also at a bay facing the North, Korfos is affected by the “meltemia” (northern summer winds), which make the place ideal for windsurfing, but not for swimming or sunbathing. Very close to Mykonos town, 2 km South of it, it makes part of the whole settlement.

Very close to Agia Anna, within walking distance from Ano Mera, this is a beach best suited to families. Located close to a small cultivated valley, it has a few taverns and some small hotels. Accessible by private car or taxi.

This sandy beach at the Southeastern side of the island is located 14 kilometers from Chora. A wise choice for those who want to enjoy clear blue waters in an atmosphere of complete serenity. This is the closest beach to Mykonos Town, at a distance of about 600m south. The name Megali Ammos means ‘big sand’ and it is a good place to relax on the sand or walk along a stretch of sand. A small traditional Greek taverna located just a few footsteps from the water’s edge.

The most cosmopolitan beach on the island, with semolina sand, celebrity audience, strong beach service and cool dining and shopping options. A medium-size, sandy beach, in the southwest side, close to the bus terminal at Platis Gialos. A variety of possibilities for accommodation, eating, water sports, a diving school, satisfy all preferences and needs.

Along, wide stretch of sand, as its name implies, this is probably the busiest beach of all. Fine sand, blue-green waters, low hills and rocks, good hotels and restaurants. Excellent accessibility. It also serves as a” marine terminal” with frequent boat rides to the southern beaches.

Access is possible by bus or a boat from Platis Gialos.

2 km north to Mykonos town(Chora) is found Tourlos, a beach and a low touristic settlement developed along the street leading to Chora, very popular for walking. At Tourlos it is located the new port of the island, with facilities both for the vessels of the line and the yachts. The new ring-road of Mykonos starts here.
